Meet our Team!
We are a group of hardworking healthcare professionals with one common goal- to create, spread, and encourage wellness and happiness in our community.
Dr. Jacqui Kinzig
Dr. Jacqui is the founder of Sustaining Health Acupuncture and one of the first acupuncturists in Kentucky to earn the title Doctor of Acupuncture. She studied biology and experimental psychology at the University of Kentucky before attending the American Institute of Alternative Medicine in Columbus, Ohio. After graduating Summa Cum laude with her Master’s in Acupuncture, she completed the necessary requirements to become board certified by the National Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She completed her Doctorate of Acupuncture from the prestigious Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in 2018 with a focus in pediatrics.
Jacqui believes that both western medicine and acupuncture have their place in society; neither is “better” than the other. Instead, they work best when used together as part of an overall health plan. Her goal is to make acupuncture an easy, sensible part of her patient’s lives. She works hard to tailor treatments to each individual so that all of her patients are comfortable with their level of therapy.
Talia Foster, L.Ac.
Talia Foster is originally from Potsdam, NY. She earned her Master’s Degrees in both Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at the Finger Lakes School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine of the New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, NY. Talia also received her Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Sciences from the New York Chiropractic College.
Talia knew at a young age that she wanted to pursue a career in the health industry, but wasn’t quite sure what. While studying nursing in undergrad she found acupuncture for her own health issues and decided that this was the field for her. Talia appreciates how Traditional Chinese Medicine treats the person as whole rather than just their symptoms.
Jordan Burk, L.Ac.
Jordan Burk is a native Kentuckian. He is a licensed acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist. He received his bachelors degree in Health Science from Georgetown College in Georgetown, KY before moving to Colorado in August, 2012 to study for his Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine. The Masters program included over 1000 hours of clinical experience and over 3000 hours of classroom studies. As a lifelong athlete and health advocate, Jordan understands wanting to feel better and healthier. Jordan’s passion to help his community came from working at Operation Care in Shelbyville, KY where he helped run the soup kitchen downstairs and thrift store upstairs. As Jordan became older he thought he wanted to practice Physical Therapy or Athletic Training but he wasn’t in love with either. After keeping an open mind Jordan was introduced to acupuncture by his father who was getting acupuncture for his back pain. It was from this moment on that Jordan never looked back. Jordan knew that he would be able to help people with Chinese Medicine and share tools that will help them achieve a higher quality of life in a natural, balanced way.
